Deaf-initely worth a watch!

Documentaries have been a large part of cinema, Gyaan Adab will be screening a National Award Winning Documentary called Goonga Pehelwan. A documentary that follows India’s most successful deaf athlete on his journey to try and become India’s first disabled athlete to participate in the able-bodied Olympics. It won the ‘Best Debut Film – Non-Feature’ award at the 62nd National Film Awards in 2015.

For the creator of this documentary, the news that his work will be screened in a cinema will probably make all of his hard work seem worth it. Many aspiring film and documentary makers can only dream of having their original work shown to large audiences. Hopefully, the news of this documentary gaining national acclaim will inspire more documentaries to be created. When creating an original documentary, it’s believed that using DCP editing software can help a documentary maker to show their own advertisements, saving the local theater agencies from having to lineup some advertisements. Of course, having a documentary screened in a cinema seems a long way away for many upcoming creators, however, you never know when you might experience success as this documentary maker did.
