On the occasion of International Women’s Day, women from different walks of life, came together to celebrate the joys and pride of being a woman, at the Punyadham Ashram. Fifteen women were felicitated by Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar. Guests of Honour, Smt. Vijaya Thakkar, Vanita Daswani & Rupa Varma, also graced the occasion.
Dr. Vijay Bhatkar addressed the gathering and said that each woman has inside her an innate skill or capability which needs to be given scope for blossoming, and that the sky is the limit for her. He spoke about Maa Krishna Kashyap, who stood up against all odds to create the beautiful Ashram.
The women achievers who were felicitated include Poonam Makar, Spiritual Healer; Dr. Shashikala Ravi, Bharat Natyam Dancer; Inderjot Kaur Oberoi; Dr Natasha Parulekar, Sonia Bhogal and Chandralekha Jagtap among others.
