Flipkart has launched its grocery service on its app to a limited number of customers in Bengaluru, according to a report.
The new marketplace by the online retailer requires a minimum order value of 500 rupees and free deliveries are offered for orders above Rs 1000. Before the soft launch, the company had done a pilot run with its staff.
Idea’s New Offer
Idea Cellular has unveiled a new unlimited calls offer with 1 GB data priced at 179 rupees, says a report.
The new offer is aimed at competing with rival Bharti Airtel’s offer of 199 rupees and Vodafone’s 177 rupees along similar lines.
Italian firm Perfectti, makers of Happydent and Mentos, suffered a setback as it posted its lowest growth in India last year, says a report.
It was also among the lowest in more than a decade for the company, which entered the country 23 years ago. The slowdown was the effect of muted consumer spending and increase in local competition.
Firms Eye Stake
Three private equity firms are seeking a 12-13 stake in the hyper and supermarkets arm of the Aditya Birla Group.
These include KKR, Bain Capital and TA Associates, who are likely to invest about 650 crore rupees in Aditya Birla Retail, which houses the supermarket unit More. If the deal goes through, then the value of the loss-making arm will rise to 5,000 crore rupees, sources said.

The Rupert Murdoch-owned company, which won the rights for an astronomical 16,347.5 crore rupees, is seeking around Rs 1,500 crore rupees from television and advertising sales and around Rs 200-300 crore rupees through ads and video-on-demand service.
Ford SUV Unveiled
Ford India has unveiled an upgraded version of its compact SUV EcoSport which is very popular in India, a report said.
The new version is available in both petrol and diesel. The vehicles are priced between 7.3 and 10.99 lakh rupees. The diesel option is priced between 8.01 lakh rupees.
Jio Adds Customers
Reliance Jio Infocomm has added 4.09 million customers in August, according to a report.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRA) data reveals that Jio’s market share rose 11 per cent. However, rivals faced subscriber setbacks with Bharti Airtel losing 0.2 million, Vodafone India 2.4 million and Idea Cellular 2.89 million. Jio has also launched cashback offers to retain its market share.
