E-Cars To Be Unveiled At Show

About 50 electric and hybrid cars are slated to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018 this week, according to a report.

This reflects the commitment by global and domestic carmakers  to India’s ambitious goal on electrical vehicles. Most of the exhibits at the show, to be held at Greater Noida from  February 9 to 14, will be working models which will be launched in a couple of years or so.

Fruity Shift By Coke

Coca-Cola will soon launch its popular brands with a dash of fruit juice to woo health-conscious customers, says a report.

Sprite, Limca and Fanta will be blended with five per cent fruit juice, the company said. The fruit will be produced by Indian farmers and the company plans to use them in as many products as possible, it added.

Sales Boost for H&M

Hennes & Mauritz’s (H&M) yearly sales has doubled but at a slower pace, reveals a report.

The fashion retailer said sales for the year ending November surged to 954 crore rupees from 490 crore a year ago. H&M opened several stores in that period and kept the price of its products lower than its rivals.

Coach Factory In Latur

The Indian Railways is planning to set up a rail and metro coach factory in Latur, says a report.

It will be on a public-private sector partnership which will entail an investment of 1,500 crore rupees.

 

Hero Eyes New Range Of Bikes

Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a new range of motorcycles over the next 6-18 months, according to a report.

The move comes as India’s largest two-wheeler bids to strengthen its position at the premium end of the market. It has identified the 200c segment as the core area of focus.

Reliance Plans Lower-End Smartphone

Reliance Retail is eyeing an ultra-low priced smartphone in the competitive telecom market to increase its subscriber base, says a report.

The smartphone will be an Android Go OS-based 4GVoLTE device under the LYF brand. The company will be in partnership with Taiwanese chipset maker MediaTek for the device.  It will probably offer the phone bundled with a Reliance Jio SIM card.

Lava Investing In Key Units

Lava International will invest more than 2,600 crore rupees in its production units to boost capacity, a report reveals.

The mobile maker is targeting a capacity of 21.6 crore units over the next five years as part of its plan to gain 40% of the share in the Rs 12,000 range market.

New Levante In Indian Market

An updated version of the SUV Levante has been launched in India by Italian luxury carmaker Maserati.

The price will start from 1.45 crore rupees (ex-showroom). The model now also comes in two additional trims – GranLusso and GranSport priced at 1.48 crore and 1.53 crore.
