WNS To Open New Centre In Pune

WNS Global Services will invest $35 million in fiscal year 2018-19 to start new centres in Pune and Vishakhapatnam and focus on technologies, a report said.

The NYSE-listed company is hoping to maintain its operating margins even after the investments. The investment will include creating new centres in multiple places, including Pune and Vishakhapatnam domestically, and also in the Philippines.

Some of the money will also be invested in creating platforms which can serve many clients from a single sector, a top official said.

IKEA to unveil First India Store Next Month

IKEA is likely launch its first Indian store here on July 10, a senior official of the Telangana government said, according to a report.

They (Ikea)are likely to open their first store in India in Hyderabad on July 10. Their CEO is expected to inaugurate the outlet.

They earmarked 800 crore rupees for the store. This will create many direct and indirect jobs in the state,” Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT and Industries, said.

Sr Sri Tattva To Bolster Marketing Spend

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s FMCG brand Sri Sri Tattva plans to boost its marketing spend, according to a report.

It has earmarked around 200 crore rupees for advertising and promotion, said media buyers.

The new entrant in Ayurveda and herbal products will spend this amount on mass media advertising, outdoor campaigns and below-the-line marketing across the country to support its expansion plan of opening 1,000 stores in the country.

Key Nissan Model Set For Launch

The second generation Nissan Leaf will make its India debut in the current fiscal year, says a report.

The model is one of the top selling electric cars in the world.

The Japanese automaker is keen on introducing its advanced global products into its India portfolio, starting with the Leaf 2, according to a top company official. He did not comment on the car’s possible price range and added that the focus would not be to make it cost competitive in the initial phase.

Future To Supply Milk At Home

Future Group will soon start delivering milk, eggs and bread at your doorstep every morning, says a report.

This will take the competition to hyper-local milk-delivery firms such as Milk Basket, Supr Daily and local milkmen.

Around 1,000 outlets under the Easyday, Nilgiris and Heritage brands of India’s largest retailer are getting ready to deliver milk directly to homes in the morning. The service will be launched in metro cities in the next few days, and expanded to other parts later.

Sales Boost For ITC’s FMCG Brands

The cumulative sales of eight ITC’s FMCG brands crossed the 13,000 crore rupees milestone in the fiscal ending March 2018, according to a report.

Three packaged food brands – Sunfeast biscuits, Bingo chips and snacks and Aashirvaad atta spurred the surge.

This boosted the annual consumer spend on ITC’s FMCG brands to more than 16,000 crore rupees in FY18 compared with 14,000 crore rupees in the same period last time, an investor presentation from the company showed.

Hindustan Lever To Integrate Portfolios

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has decided to re-integrate its foods and refreshment categories, says a report.

The two portfolios were made into separate categories two years ago.

While the earlier move to split the combined business was done to provide sharper focus to each of the segments, the plan now to merge the two is with the objective of driving synergies, increasing organisational agility and serving local consumers better.

Bajaj Auto upbeat over Qute

Bajaj Auto is optimistic about launching its quadricycle ‘Qute’ in the next three to six months, says a report.

The vehicle, first showcased at an auto show in New Delhi in 2012 as ‘RE60’, is being exported to close to a dozen countries.

In India, however, its launch was held up because of regulatory hurdles. Earlier this year, the Supreme Court asked the Centre to consider the suggestions made on the issue of safety and emission standards and a final notification is on the cards.
