Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering (GGIM) has organised a Basic Rock Climbing Course for all adventure enthusiasts. For past 34 years, Giripremi Mountaineering Club has been promoting mountaineering and rock climbing among the masses. GGIM has been conducting the Basic Rock Climbing Course from last year with a motive to teach this sport in a scientific and methodical manners with focus on safety. The course contains outdoor syllabus which exposes participants to theoretical as well as practical knowledge, skills and techniques of activities such as Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Jumaring, First Aid, Map reading, Camping, physical fitness and environmental ethics etc. The course is taught and conducted by Giripremi’s Everesters and experienced mountaineers. It is a four-days, three-night residential course which will be conducted at Fort Sinhagad during the months of Nov and Dec 2016. The course does not require any prerequisite experience or knowledge. This certificate course is open to everyone above 16 years of age.
The registration is open till October 31.
Today, there are very few organisations which offer such methodical and scientific training for Rock Climbing but GGIM is the only mountaineering institute in Southern India which offers such training.
