ADYPU Takes Lead In Helmets Drive

Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU) has taken the lead in ensuring 100 per cent helmet compliant University.

The University has implemented compulsory helmets for students, staff and faculty.

It is an initiative of Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil, President. He said, “As part of University Social Responsibility, road safety and noise pollution are our core thematic focus for transforming our students into responsible citizens of tomorrow. Through our innovative experiential multi-disciplinary pedagogy, the students are encouraged to think and implement innovative and creative solutions on varied social aspects of human well-being.

To highlight the importance of good road safety habits, ADYPU had organised a special interaction with Tejasvi Satpute, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City recently. On her arrival,  ADYPU students demonstrated a drill on road safety. During her talk on Good Practices Guide on Road Safety, she lauded the novel initiatives taken by ADYPU to educate the students on road safety and reducing noise pollution.

Ms Satpute highlighted the importance of three E’s for Road Safety – Education, Engineering and Enforcement. She encouraged the students to wear helmets and follow traffic rules. She emphasized that the onus an onus on saving a life is a sole responsibility of oneself.
