It’s Navroze or the Parsi New Year today and there is no other place better than Pune to celebrate it. Parsi food or bhonu is loved by Puneites for its exotic flavours and tempting spices and here are five hotspots which have lined up the traditional menu for Navroze. (in alphabetical order)
Dorabjee and Sons
This restaurant has been regularly visited by generations of Puneites and it sure is a favourite. Their special menu to celebrate the Parsi New Year includes delicacies like Patra Ni Machchi, Mutton Dhansak, Salli Gosh, Chicken Farcha, Mutton Kebabs and Lagan Nu Custard. They are offering this menu till August 18.

King’s Resto Bar
This restaurant, tucked away in a quiet corner, is well-known for its Patios. For the celebrations, the menu includes Kolmi No Patio, a mix of sweet and sour flavours served with prawns, Mutton Dhansak and Kebabs. They serve Parsi food even on a regular basis but don’t miss out on their specially prepared Navroze menu!

The Navroze special menu includes lipsmacking dishes Maura Dal Chawal, Jinga No Patio, which is a mixture of rice, lentils and thick curry, Gosh No Pulav and Mitho Ravo, a semolina-based dessert. This menu is available till August 22 along with other Parsi food items that are served on a daily basis at the restaurant.

Where Else Café
This café has prepared quite an elaborate spread for you celebrate Navroze with your friends and family. The menu includes authentic Parsi dishes that are made with a twist. ‘Papeta Per Cheese’ is a dish of cheesy fries that is served with a topping of Parsi flavours. Their unique offering includes ‘Dhansak Biryani’, a medley of lentils, vegetables, spices and meat that is cooked in a biryani style. Get there soon as this menu is only up for one day!

Zamu’s Place
Zamu’s Place is a beloved sizzler spot that has churned out some Parsi delights to make your Navroze celebration yummier. Dishes like Mutton Pulav Dal, Tareli Machchi, Mutton Cutlets and Salli Boti and Salli Chicken. These Parsi favourites will be available even after the new year celebrations are over.
