Prithvi Edifice today announced “Prithvi Edifice Cup 2016” an Inter IT T20 Cricket Championship, which will witness 32 top IT companies sweating it out for the top honours.

The record 32 teams will engage themselves in a league-cum-knock out basis on weekends. Teams will be divided into eight groups, with the Top two from each group advancing into the knock out phase starting with the pre-quarterfinals. Three venues namely are Deccan Gymkhana ground, Nehru Stadium and Shinde High School ground will be used for the entire tournament.
The final has been scheduled for February 19, 2016, which will conclude a marathon of 63 matches played over 20 days.
Sixteen new entrants have signed up this year. A total of 32 companies across 8 Groups will compete for the Cup.

Group 2: Tata Consultancy Services, Maersk Global Service Centre, Tieto Software, Johnson Controls India
Group 3: Infosys, Tibco Software, Persistent Systems, Zensar Technologies
Group 4: BMC Software, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Credit Suisse, Cybage
Group 5: Deustche Bank Operations India (DBOI), Harman Connected Services, Extreme Webtech Pvt Ltd, HSBC GLT
Group 6: Mphasis, Pub Matic, Siemens Software, Vinsys Technologies
Group 7: Springer Nature, Synerzip Software, Syntel Solutions, IP Access
Group 8: Master Card Technologies, Sungard IT Availability India Pvt Ltd/FIS Global, Tech Mahindra, VMware Software
The winner of the championship will be richer by Rs 50,000, while the runners up will have to rest content with Rs 35,000. Among the other awards include; 63 Man of the Match Trophies, and cash awards for Man of the Series (Rs 5,000), Best Batsman (Rs 5,000), Best Bowler (Rs 5,000)
